1300 Military Families fed at Fort Hood
On Saturday, December 8th, 2007, 1300 Fort Hood Military families were blessed at the "Celebration of Love" outreach hosted by PromiseLand West of Austin, Army Community Service, and the Fort Hood Installation Chaplain's Office. Each family received a Christmas box that included a turkey, canned vegetables, milk, bread and pie. Also, every child in attendance received a special gift from Santa Clause.
Over 250 volunteers were on hand including a Grammy Award winning Tejano Legend, "Little Joe" as well as Randy Phillips and Dan Dean of the top selling Christian band, "Phillips Craig and Dean". Peggy Joyce Ruth, author of the best selling book "Psalm 91", was on hand to give and autograph a book for each family and Richard Hight was there to paint one of his amazing works of art for the soldiers. Also in attendance were several prominent Fort Hood military officers.
This event was our way of giving back to our soliders and their families who give so much on behalf of our freedom.
We would like to thank everyone that made this event possible. So many of you gave of your time and your resources to make this event a tremendous success! God bless you for what you did for our soldiers!
