2012 WAS THE CELEBRATION OF LOVE 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
To Celebrate our 10 year anniversary, COL was be held at the DELL DIAMOND in Round Rock Texas. We celebrated 2012 event with the Circle of love outreach program, which supports more than 2,700 families each December. The Circle of Love is a collaborative effort between the COL team, the community and the local Independent School District.
Each family in attendance receives a frozen turkey and all of the traditional components of a Christmas meal to take home and prepare for their families. Christmas presents are provided for every child in attendance. Hundreds of bran new bikes are also provided to a select group of very special Fort Hood children.
The 2012 anniversary event was truly a celebration of love event.
Instead of each school hosting at their respective locations, the event hosted all the schools/cities participating at the Dell Diamond. Because we were receiving families from all the different participating schools and cities the venue has expanded. The anniversary event included live music, radio stations such as Spirit 105.9 and UniVision radio, activities for children, free hair cuts from Paul Mitchell, community resources, Santa arrived by helicopter, a children's train to provided free rides around the inside of the Dell Diamond for children and a huge surprise.
A Toy Wonderland
Each year Toys for Tots has helped us reach out to the children of our families in need. Each child receives 2 big toys and a stocking stuffer. This anniversary year in honor of our 10 year anniversary the USMC and Toys for Tots created a Toy Wonderland for all of the children present at the Dell Diamond.
